My Velvet Hippie cushion
Isn't Cocooning one of the best concepts in humanity? Stay at home, to relax while being wrapped under a plaid. Well today we are going to work on a very cocooning and very elegant cushion. A nice velvet cushion perfect for all the rooms in the house! We have decided here to do it velvet, but you can reuse this tutorial with lots of other fabrics.
Supplies :
- 50 cm x 150 cm of Velvet 3 meters at 15 €
- A Assortit wire reel
- A pair of scissors
- A rule / square
- A Craie tailor
- A pins box
- A sewing machine
Step 1: Cut your pieces:
1- For a 40 cm x 40 cm cushion (standard size), draw, on the back of your velvet, a 41 cm x 95 cm rectangle. Cut your fabric.
Step 2: Sew your cushion:
2- Return the velvet rectangle you just cut, on the back.
3- Hit on both small sides, making a 1 cm setback. Mark your hem with an iron, then make a straight seam at the edge of it.
4- To form the cushion portfolio, simply overlap the parts that we have just sewed on each other, on the up side, and check that we have 40cm on each side.
5- Pin the whole tour of the cushion, on the sides and backwards. Then seam 1 cm from the edge.
6- Remember to make a return trip to the openings so that the seam does not get off.
7- Turn everything back and iron the seams. And here you have your brand new cover!
And here you have finished your pretty velvet cushion cover! If you also carry out this project, do not hesitate to share it on social networks with the hashtag #lesouponsdesaintpierre!
